Welcome to Marine
Surveying and Consulting
At Lighthouse
Marine Surveying and Consulting (LMSC)
we believe the marine survey is an unbiased,
non-prejudiced, professional opinion of
the vessel which allows the buyer, seller,
lender, underwriter, and adjuster to make
a well-informed decision when making a
new or used boat purchase. The survey
will advise the vessel purchaser of the
fair market value and replacement value.
The marine survey advises
the buyer of current or potential problems
and provides a complete inventory, including
serial and model numbers. If the vessel
is used the professional marine surveyor
will have completed research on the production
of the vessel and know of any reported
problems before conducting the survey.
If the vessel is new the
professional surveyor will know the most
current standards, possibly finding any
shortcomings or oversights by the manufacturer,
and advise the buyer, broker or sales
representative of current standards and
make recommendations to correct any deficiencies.
At Lighthouse Marine
Surveying we encourage the buyer, seller,
broker, lender or underwriter to be present
during the survey. I promise you will
find the experience valuable. I will make
every effort to answer the customers questions.
However, my first priority will be to
concentrate on the inspection of the vessel.
When the field survey is completed those
present can expect a brief verbal report
on the findings. Approximately 5 working
days later the customer requesting and
paying for the survey should receive the
written report.
